The thing I love about my hobbies and, in general, everything I post here is a tight connection between the three dimensions. (hence the .xyz extension of this site) Another aspect of my daily work life is creating software. I am working as a GIS Developer for a company called Tensing. One of the things I try to do there, besides making awesome products, is streamlining the development proces by applying Scrum patterns, and trying to implement a DevOps mindset.

One of the things that slides over down to my personal life are lists. I have lists and sticky notes everywhere, and not just for leveling my print bed! Well… in fact I use the DONE pile for bed leveling, but that’s beside the point…

This article is mainly about planning and tracking, and I’d like to invite you, the lovely reader of this post, to enlighten me with your ideas if you want.

I’m looking for a good way to keep track of my printing backlog. For my job, I am used to working with a scrum/kanban board, but I’m not sure yet how to tackle it for physical production. Currently I am using Microsoft ToDo, but it’s not giving me the insight of the size of my backlog, nor the state of things. I am also using OneNote to keep track of costs, etc. unfortunately, this is becoming a mess to be honest.

So how do you, tackle tracking your ‘orders’ (most of mine are for myself, but still) and costs? And maybe, sometime in the future, sales. 🙂 (who knows!)
